Good and Bad....

Hello my new friends,

I'm hoping I can interest you in this subject a peep...I often find myself going back to the events with Adam and Eve in the garden and the curse that came. I deeply wish to understand as fully what really happened, what did the tree of knowledge of Good and Bad MEAN?

Well here is a scripture I have found and I have spent and unknown amount of hours thinking about.

Isaiah 45:7 "The one forming light and creating darkness, Causing well-being and creating calamity; I am YHWH who does all these."

What IS this vs saying?? I don't think it means God wants to creat calamity for anyone!

I think this is almost a scientific statement in a way....
He is giving us a glimse of the dynamics of creation...

What am I talking about?

Take light for example. How can light be light, but by having the darkness to contrast with it??

Here's another example say there is a flat spot on the ground, someone wants to have a small hill. (light) they dig a hole and pile the dirt up. What do we have? A hill is born, but at the creation of the hill a hole is also born...(darkness) Yet God tells us come into the light, we have a choice as to where we will dwell, in the hole or on top of the hill!

This is almost like a construction principle of many things both phyical and spiritual....

So in going back to the other part of the scripture well-being vs calamity.

I wonder ......IF when he created every single thing that is good, the bad for each simply automatically came into existance, because of the prinicple of contrast??? Lick the bad is shadowing the good?

The way this vs reads "The one forming light and creating darkness, Causing well-being and creating calamity;"

The fact that the good things are mentioned first, it's almost like he's saying 'thus after light was created the RESULT is darkness is also created?' So then I think this can be carried over to everything, And after looking at it we might be able to learn more as to what really happened in the garden and even what is happening now??
