Since my post yesterday was directed along these lines, I was steered towards this particular thread and I must say that there is such a variance of thought as to what a 'bash' really is. Obviously many don't even imagine they ARE bashing.

BUT........here's another twist to this topic.

Bash is another term for a borne again SHell........kind of a UNIX GUI with some functionality built into it (and the 'borne again' part DOES NOT refer to one of those goofy Christians who have found Jesus either........just so ya know). It was the rage until X Windows eclipsed it some time ago..........although some old 'die hards' continue to make use of it.

There's ALSO a GOOD BASH............ever been to a GREAT party and said (or heard someone ELSE say..........that was a GREAT bash..........hopefully we'll ALL be worthy to be around AFTER Armageddon and actually HAVE one of these!!!

Then, there was this EVIL little dwarf in Sleeping Beauty........BASHFUL was the little creep's name........even though I don't recall witnessing any of his nasty little actions.........he MUST have been bad or they wouldn't have named him such.

If one actually performs research on the word 'bash' you'll see that it's origins are rather obscure..........as a 'sheep' myself.............I have my OWN theory..........

You know how 'the squeaky wheel always gets the grease' euphamizim has proliferated since the wheel was no doubt invented..............well..............I suspect one of those 'squeeky' wheels was likely a SHEEP at one time.................they became SO squeeky..........ba baaa baaaa..........others would quell this behavior by shushing them as often as they would do the baaaa routine............baaa shhhhh

In OTHER words.........it's just become a rather handy way to shut someone up who's been beak'n...............the only problem is..........it just promotes more!!
